Joseph is a Senior Associate with PPGV. Joseph has served in a variety of roles in business development, corporate development, and strategy for various technology companies. In his duties, he was responsible for overseeing and executing capital raises, leading the M&A strategy and execution, developing go-to-market strategies for new markets, and negotiating and managing strategic partnerships with Fortune 100 companies.

Prior to his work in PPGV, Joseph helped to start and propel the growth of several technology companies and business units across the consumer goods, solar financing, eCommerce, on-demand and media & entertainment fields as an independent management consultant.

Joseph holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and served as Treasurer for Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE).

    • Tackled high-value priorities across Robby, a Y-Combinator autonomous start-up robotics company utilizing robots to deliver products to customers: Collaborated with engineering, design and business teams to develop and refine business processes to support new product launch ’Snack Bot’, a partnership with Pepsi to deliver snacks to college students at the University of Pacific in Stockton.
    • Synthesized data and requirements to establish launch playbook for deploying 10 robots on-campus operating from 9 am to 5 pm; managed P&L while hiring and training 15 contractors to operate during the pilot period.
    • Supervised and coordinated move-in / move-out of the first office (budget $320,000) handling everything from security, office design, health insurance, and on-boarding process.

    • Spearheaded customer validation research, distributed and analyzed over 600 surveys focused on understanding Millennials' financial experience and the most effective medium to reach target market.
    • Designed interactive educational experience “ Money Trails” promoted financial literacy aimed at Millennials, resulting in students going from zero investment experience to a solid understanding of investment vehicles; program implemented at 24 universities nationwide.

The EXCEL HOOPS was organized for the purpose of promoting and developing the basketball skills, athletic capability, and sound health for the youth residing in Santa Clara County. The EXCEL HOOPS is to encourage and foster positive sportsmanship standards, participants, coaches, and parents. While junior high and high school students have the opportunity to participate in athletic competition through their schools no other league provides the platform for year-round basketball competition in the area.

To that end, EXCEL HOOPS is committed to achieving success on the court. However, in achieving this parameter of success we are cognizant that success on the blacktop is secondary to that achieved in the academic arena. It is EXCEL HOOPS view that though athletic competition is good unto itself, athletics can also function as a powerful tool for molding the educational development of young people.
